SOULJOURNERS FOR CHRIST
sOULjOURNERS fOR cHRIST mINISTRY IS A NON-PROFIT FAITH BASED ORGANIZATION SOLElY FOR SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE. OUR SpeCIFIC GOAL TO IS TO BRING HELP, HOPE AND HEALING TO THE HOMELESS POPULATION IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND WHEREVER ELSE THE LORD SENDS US TO MINISTER LOVE TO A LOST SOUL. Souljourners has been endorsed by the Los Angeles County sheriff Dept. as a community liaison, inmate resources, and drug preventionist through the drug free world corp. district 9 in the city of los angeles has also endorsed souljourners leader ms tan martin as an honorary board member of the south park district as well as being selected as an advisory board member to the executive clergy counsel of the los angeles sheriff dept.
What We Do!
In a nutshell we offer our love through feeding, street gospel, entertainment, clothing, ministry and other helpful resources such as drug rehab referrals, domestic violence support,gang intervention in parks, street corners, skid row, under freeway underpasses and wherever there is a need to be filled focusing on the homeless community.
The Souldiers
The Founder of the ministry is Ms. Tan Martin, who has a zeal and passion for helping people. The ministry was founded in Oct. 2006 after Ms. Tan had a little talk with Jesus about the desires of her heart to go back and help people who were struggling with drugs and homeless and people in need of some love and guidance as she once did in her OWn life with her own struggles with drugs and homelessness IN THE PAST. Her first call was to a dear friend and sister Evangelist Ruby Duren and a brother, Elder Darral Frank who also shared her vision and this is where SoulJourners was birth. Later as the work increased with service unto the Lord so did the members: ms. yvonne rembert, Ms. jackie Lee (RIP), Mo. Annie Rush (RIP), Ms. Bevalena Redd, ms. debra bullock, ms. lynn simmons, ms. donnita malone, ms. trena frank, ms. pamela carter. youth members: donnah and candice griffin, christina and dominique malone along with many other volunteers and ministries who have partnered with us down through the years.
